A friendly reminder of the rules and procedures in the lab: Lab P.I.E. Test Booth -Swipe your Tartan Card at the front desk computer and select your class and activity -Voices should be off while in the lab -Cell phones off or on vibrate. No cell phone usage is permitted in the lab. -When logged in for hours you need to be working on Deaf related projects/websites only -When logged in for hours, if you need to leave the lab for more than five minutes - you need to sign out. -If you leave the lab without signing out, your time for that visit will not count. -A plethora of resources: including books and videos are available to be loaned out for use in the lab. -Some books and videos are available for a limited time checkout outside the lab. -Students using cubicles for school work have priority. If you are not doing school work, you may be asked to move. -Headphones are available for use in the cubicles. They can be signed out at the front desk. -Sign Language Mentors and Tutors are your first stop for questions and practice. -Choose a scenario from the box. -Sign in at the front desk 15 minutes prior to your appointment. -Inform the Sign Language Mentor and Tutor your topic. -Fill out a Sinclair Service Record prior to the start of the appointment. -Arrive to the “waiting room” (outside of room 9201) 5 minutes prior to the assignment and wait for the assignment to begin. -Only one P.I.E. is allowed per day. Don't ruin you appetite! -All P.I.E.'s are to be kept confidential. -If a student does not arrive early or the student is not prepared, the P.I.E. will be canceled. -Teachers will be notified if a student cancels with less than 24 hour notice, does not show up for assignment, or if the assignment is canceled by Lab staff. - When scheduling the P.I.E., annotate in the comments section the class and professor's name for which you are completing the assignment. -Sign the confidentiality agreement at the beginning of each semester, before completing your firs assignment. - All recorded P.I.E. CDs/DVDs are to be kept in the lab. They are not to be used outside of building 9 and may not be copied or saved to a computer for any reason. - Appropriate professional attire must be worn. -Do not discuss your test with anyone other than your instructor. -Show up for tests on time. Be prepared: - wear appropriate professional clothing, - have appropriate test materials ready, - know what the instructions are for your assignment in the testing booth - schedule enough time in the testing booth, etc. -Students are not permitted to touch or operate any equipment during tests (this includes starting and stopping the recording equipment). -No test (or script) is to leave the lab. -No copies are to be made of any test.
